Wythenshawe Neighbourhood Advice Project – Tree of Life
December 9 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
We are pleased to announce that the Wythenshawe Neighbourhood Advice Project has now started. The project will operate on 3 weekly sessions across the Baguley, Brooklands, Northenden, Sharston, & Woodhouse Park wards. The advice sessions will take place on Mondays & Tuesdays from various community venues. Currently these are:
Mondays – AM – Dandelion Community Centre 10am – 12.30pm / PM – Tree of Life 1pm – 3.30pm
Tuesdays AM – Bideford Community Centre From 10am
Thanks to the above community assets for their support! We are looking to offer an afternoon session in Northenden alternating with Bideford and will confirm shortly. Initially we are seeking referrals (not signposts!!) from those working supporting the local community whether that be health, well-being or social care. You can make a referral through the following email link: Neighbourhood Advice .
Please note the number on the flyer is not a generic advice line –please use the referral email. We will provide face-to-face appointments in welfare rights, housing, employment, money issues & family law. The service is free and confidential and is ONLY for residents in the neighbourhood wards.
We enclose an initial flyer that contains links and a QR code to the referral form that we are asking workers to complete – this will provide us with initial details that will allow us to offer the service. We will aim to contact clients that are referred into the project within 3 working days given that the project team will work Mon-Wed each week. Our aim is to enhance advice provision across the Wythenshawe area and not duplicate services so please do not refer to us if your client is already receiving advice from another agency.
We are particularly interested in clients that may have been refused benefits particularly disability benefits as we can offer to challenge decisions, submit reconsideration requests and if required represent at Social Security Appeal Tribunals.
We will be offering free training to front-line workers in Employment, welfare benefits and housing in the coming months so please watch this space!
If you have any queries please contact us at neighbourhoodadvice@gmlaw.org.uk
We look forward to working with you all.
