Wythenshawe’s Christmas Light Switch On is Back!

On Saturday 27th November, Wythenshawe’s well renowned Christmas Light Switch On will be back, bigger and better than ever! The star-studded line up will be accompanied by an array of exciting local community acts, showcasing Wythenshawe’s finest talents.

The highly anticipated Christmas celebrations will kick off at 2pm with performances from Keegan Academy Irish Dancing, Shana Keelers School of Dance, Genetic Sessions, Whitworth Brass Quintet, Shooting Star Theatre School and Wythenshawe Community Choir. Wythenshawe Town Centre are thrilled to be supporting so many local acts this year and the huge variation of entertainment will provide an enchanted opening to the festive activities.

The event will be headlined by Lee Ryan previously of the chart-topping band Blue! There will be a range of performances from famous stars such as Dene Michael who was the lead vocalist with 1980s pop sensations Black Lace and writer of many hit songs including “I am the music man”. Redd- whose latest release “Rogue” peaked at #1 in the UK House Album Charts, as well as upcoming new artist, Belle. There will also be performances from 90’s pop sensation Lolly and Jo O’Meara formally of S Club, Jo began releasing solo albums in the early 00’s! The event will come to a close at 6:30pm with the switching on of the town centre’s Christmas lights.
