Award winning street food champions GRUB are teaming up with Manchester City Council to bring an all new monthly food & drink festival to Wythenshawe kicking off Saturday 23rd July. Introducing ‘GRUB Carnival – The Travelling Food Festival’, a pop-up event which will bring together the very best of GRUB’s top street food traders accompanied by pop up brewery bars, smashing take home produce stalls and a stacked stage of entertainment. GRUB Carnival will not only be a fantastic, inclusive, family friendly event designed to bring people together but it also has big ambitions to become a focal point for the community providing new jobs & entrepreneurial opportunities alongside space for local creatives to share their work and talents.

Plans are well underway for the first GRUB Carnival which is pitching up Saturday 23rd July on the sun drenched space outside the former Wythenshawe indoor market. Right now GRUB can confirm there will be cracking street food from top notch traders Desert Island Dumplings, Rad Burger, Il Forno, The Neighbourhood Coop, Thief Street Grill & Waffle & The Chaat Walas. At the same time Paradiso Authentic Italian & Marzipan Mcr will be in charge of catering for the crowd with a sweet tooth. This crew will be accompanied by a mini take home produce market full of independent food and drink producers who are all as local as possible. Beer fans will not be disappointed as the GRUB Carnival bar will be stacked with craft beer from the likes of North West brewers like Vocation Brewery, Squawk Brew Co. Rivington Brew Co and many more plus the Runaway Brewery team will be there in person pouring and talking about their beers. Beyond the beer there will be a mouth watering selection of cocktails, mocktails, wines and soft drinks including freshly canned pops produced by Steep Soda right here in Manchester. To ensure a lovely day out is had whatever the weather the GRUB Carnival tent will be home to a stage full of live entertainment and DJs plus lawn games to keep the kids (and adults) amused.

GRUB are also reaching out to the Wythenshawe community to collaborate and offer support to budding entrepreneurs through their ‘School Of GRUB’ scheme. The ‘School Of GRUB’ is a free to attend workshop presented by successful street food traders giving real life advice on how to get started in the business, the best prospects from those workshops then get free mentoring from GRUB and a leg up to get to their first street food gig. Further details of this workshop which will take place in Wythenshawe will be forthcoming soon. GRUB also want to hear from local businesses, residents, artists, musicians and community groups who might want to support or get involved in the event. If that sounds like you then please drop GRUB an email using the address info@grubcarnival.com.
