Miller Homes is today unveiling plans for how contributions of £640,395 will be spent in Northenden and the surrounding Sale area as it builds new homes at its flagship Varsity Quarter development.
Alongside the contributions, the builder will be providing 45 affordable homes to the local area. Miller Homes are currently working with local affordable housing providers to bring these plots forward and help to support the Greater Manchester community.
The monetary contributions of over £600,000 will be spread out between the areas surrounding the Varsity Quarter development and the Sale area. £17,395 will create new bus shelters to the development ensuring there are enough suitable transport links for future residents.
Alongside this, the homebuilder also plans to contribute £125,000 towards the provision of signalised pedestrian crossing facilities on the Sale Road.
The remaining £498,000 will be allocated to improving open spaces. This includes the replacement of sports pitch provisions located in the vicinity of the Varsity Quarter development.
This announcement comes as the homebuilder begins to embed itself within the Greater Manchester community. Recently it supported Manchester Young Lives with a donation of Arts & Crafts, and in the spring worked with Variety North West, which is located in Stretford, to offer Easter Eggs to vulnerable children across the whole region.
Varsity Quarter is the proud development of Miller Homes, transforming the old Manchester College City Campus into sustainable, stylish new homes. The first phase of homes have been digitally launched and are available to reserve online, including three storey house types.
Clare Noakes, Sales Director for Miller Homes North West said: “We are proud to be able to make such a substantial contribution to the Northenden and Sale area as we bring new and affordable homes to the region. It was important for us to ensure that the funds covered a wide range of sectors for the locals, including road safety, transport locations, facilities for residents”
