Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineer Apprentice, Glass Cutter Operatives, Glass Operative Apprentice, Trainee Warehouse Operative/HGV Driver and Janitor

Float Glass Industries are manufacturers and distributors of glass to the UK window industry and conveniently located on Ledson Road, just across the road from the Roundthorn tram stop on Southmoor Road.  Due to the introduction of a new development programme, we have number of full time and part-time vacancies available.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias) 3 years electrical and mechanical maintenance experience required.  Ideally HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar and/or recognised apprenticeship to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. Must be able to work to H&S Regulations. Duties include but not limited to : Maintaining production equipment, routine preventative maintenance, reactive and proactive maintenance, planned and unplanned engineering tasks, electrical and diagnostic checks.. You will be required to work a shift pattern 6.00am-2.30pm, 5.00pm-1.30am on a rotational basis, although we are currently reviewing the future shift patterns.

Electrical Engineer Apprentice – Ideal opportunity for an Apprentice Engineer/ graduate to ply their new skills in a fast paced, growing local business. You will be part of an Engineering team looking after manufacturing machinery, you will be trained in PPM, AM, TPM. Desired skills : Punctual, Reliable, Ambitious, Honest, Hardworking, Can show initiative, Able to take direction, Can pay close attention to detail. Personal qualities : Commitment to an Apprenticeship programme, Self-motivated, Commitment to the company, Can work in a team and use your own initiative. Desired qualifications : 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), grade C/4 or above, to include English and maths. Must be working towards a recognised engineering qualification. Future prospects : Business is growing and possible progression within the company on completion of their Apprenticeship.

Glass Cutters / Operatives – No formal qualifications required as NVQ Glass Processing training will be provided for the right candidates. Must be able to work to H&S Regulations.  Varied shift patterns available.

Glass Operative Apprentice : NVQ in Glass Processing training will be provided. Desired skills : Punctual, Reliable, Ambitious, Honest, hardworking, Can show initiative, Able to take direction, Can pay close attention to detail. Trainee Warehouse Operative / HGV Driver – in this position you will receive NVQ warehouse and distribution Training whilst also training for your HGV licence. Must be able to work to H&S Regulations. Varied shift patterns available.

Janitor / odd job man  : Duties include : general cleaning, housekeeping, odd jobs.  Must be able to work to H&S Regulations – part-time or full time position available
