Aims and types of events – The aim of the project is to use nature-based solutions to tackle climate change in Wythenshawe and get local communities back out into their green and blue spaces.
We will be hosting a series of volunteering events across the sites. The type of events are very varied and can be tailored for events for specific community groups if asked.
Events are open to all public and we can make reasonable adjustment to activities to suit varying abilities. Example of events we will be putting on include path clearance, habitat creation, pond management and litter picks. Other types of events include educational sessions, such as nature walks or woodland craft sessions such as bird box building, bug hotels and willow weaving activities.
Commitment: Attendance can be one off or regular. Sessions are being hosted from May 2022-March 2023. We have a less regular programme over the summer months due to seasonal constraints but will be operating and approximately 6 sessions per month, 4 in Wythenshawe and 2 at Outwood Country Park in Bury. Events will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the occasional Saturday approximately every 2 months.
